81 years since the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau

Yesterday, Ran Gvili finally came home, 843 days after he was murdered defending Kibbutz Alumim on October 7. First to go in, last to return.

We are the last generation to live alongside Holocaust survivors. To hear their stories firsthand. To carry their memory forward. And yet, 81 years later, 46% of the world holds antisemitic beliefs. 20 Jews were murdered in antisemitic attacks in 2025 alone, 15 of them at a Chanukah celebration in Sydney.

We just want to live. To raise our families and feel safe in our homes.
That’s still too much to ask.

This is why we need Holocaust Memorial Day. To remind the whole world—Never Again.
