In our latest weekly update we see the same hate from North America to Eastern Europe same hate, new headlines.
Montreal — A Jewish dad walking with his kids was sprayed, punched, and kneed; his kippah thrown into a fountain. Instead of naming the antisemitism, a court floated “heat-wave” framing while ordering a psych eval. Downplaying motive is how repeat offenders slip through. Jewish safety is not a weather report.
Livry-Gargan (Paris region) — 65-year-old Dubi Sitruck was attacked and robbed of his Star-of-David necklace while wearing a kippah. He needed hospital care. This is not “street theft.” It is targeting a Jew for looking Jewish. France has promised action since 2023’s surge; Jews are still paying the price.
Sarajevo — 47 Israeli tourists stranded after their passports ended up… at a landfill. Officials call it a “clerical error.” Maybe. But if 47 passports from any other group vanished, would it be brushed off so fast? Casual indifference to Jewish travelers is still indifference.
Aviation — From “Free Palestine” sprayed over ATC frequencies to bureaucratic confusion over El Al and entry rules, activists and officials alike are turning civil aviation into an arena for grievance. Messing with safety channels or using red tape to box out Jewish travelers isn’t “protest.” It’s risk.
Tel Aviv — Families staged a symbolic wedding and a mass rally for the hostages. Because life milestones don’t wait for terror to end. The message was simple: bring them home—alive and now.
What ties this week together? Institutions choosing euphemism over truth. Media softening motive. “Mistakes” that would be scandals…until the victims are Jews. If you can name every kind of hate except antisemitism, that’s part of the problem.
