Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our Instagram content, website resources, and mission.

Our Instagram Content

Questions about what we post, how often, and what you can expect from following us.

What kind of content do you post on Instagram?

We post a diverse mix: Jewish holiday greetings and explanations, weekly news updates documenting global events, cultural content (Jewish food history, Yiddish phrases, scientific achievements), hostage coverage and updates, LGBTQ+ Jewish content, educational explainers (like “The Antisemitism Iceberg”), commemorations (Holocaust Memorial Day, October 7 anniversaries), and feel-good stories celebrating Jewish resilience and achievement.

Do you cover Jewish holidays?

Yes! We mark every major Jewish holiday – Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur, Succot, Simchat Torah, Hanukkah, Tu Bishvat, Purim, Passover, Shavuot, and more. Each post explains the holiday’s significance, history, and traditions. We wish our community Chag Sameach and help non-Jewish followers understand what these celebrations mean.

How do you verify the news you report?

Every news claim is sourced from verified outlets – Reuters, Associated Press, The Times, The Guardian, Jerusalem Post, Times of Israel, Haaretz, JTA, local newspapers, court documents, and official statements. We include full citations (typically 15-25 sources per weekly update) at the end of each carousel so readers can verify every claim themselves. If we can’t source it, we don’t report it.

What are the educational explainers?

These are deep-dive carousel posts on complex topics – “The Antisemitism Iceberg” breaking down overt and subtle forms of antisemitism, “How Israel Shapes the Modern World” exploring Israeli innovations, “Jesus and His Jewish Identity” examining historical context, “Jewish Scientific Breakthroughs” highlighting contributions to medicine and science. They make complex subjects accessible through visuals and clear explanations.

Website Resources

Questions about the glossary, timelines, articles, and other materials on our website.

What is the glossary and who is it for?

Our glossary contains over 110 terms covering Jewish history, Israeli law, international humanitarian law, religious concepts, and culture – from “Belligerent Occupation” to “Klezmer” to “Yom Kippur.” Each entry includes expert citations from sources like the ICRC, UN documents, academic journals, and legal analysis. It’s designed for students, researchers, journalists, educators, or anyone wanting authoritative definitions they can verify and cite.

What do the timelines cover?

We have interactive timelines covering: 3,000 years of Jewish history (from biblical times to today), Jewish women’s contributions to history, culture, and society, and the Jewish festival calendar explaining the significance of each holiday throughout the year. The timelines present complex history in an accessible, visual format you can explore chronologically.

Can I download your articles as PDFs?

Yes. Most of our long-form articles are available for download as PDFs from our downloads page. This makes them easier to share, print, or reference offline. Topics include antisemitism analysis, Zionism explained, LGBT rights comparisons, and detailed explorations of specific historical events.

How is the website different from Instagram?

Instagram is for quick, shareable content – holiday greetings, news updates, cultural snippets. Our website is where you go deeper: the full 110+ term glossary with complete citations, interactive timelines you can explore at length, long-form articles with thorough analysis, and downloadable resources for offline use. Think of Instagram as the introduction, and the website as the library.

About Us & Getting Involved

Questions about who we are, our mission, and how you can participate.

Are you a political organisation?

No. We’re an educational project that celebrates Jewish culture and documents events affecting Jewish communities. We don’t campaign for political parties or specific policies. Our stance is straightforward: pro-peace, anti-hate, pro-understanding. We believe accurate information and cultural celebration are more powerful than political advocacy.

Why was this project started after October 7?

The October 7, 2023 attacks and their aftermath revealed both a hunger for accurate information about Jewish life and a flood of misinformation. We saw people wanting to understand Jewish holidays, history, and culture – and others spreading dangerous falsehoods. This project exists to fill that gap: celebrating Jewish life, providing historical context, and documenting what mainstream media often misses or ignores.

How can I support your work?

There are several ways: Follow our Instagram and engage with posts you find meaningful. Share content that resonates – holiday greetings, explainers, news updates. Use our educational resources and recommend them to others. Contribute by writing articles or suggesting topics via our contributors page. Donate through our GoFundMe to help cover research and hosting costs. Every engagement helps us reach more people.

Can I use your content for educational purposes?

Absolutely. Our resources are designed to be shared. Teachers, students, and researchers are welcome to reference our glossary, cite our articles, use our timelines in presentations, and share our Instagram content in educational contexts. We just ask that you credit The Truth About Judaism and link back to the source material when possible.

I spotted an error. How do I report it?

We take accuracy seriously. If you find an error in any of our content – whether factual, a broken link, or a source that needs updating – please contact us through our website or DM us on Instagram. We review all corrections and update content promptly when errors are confirmed. Our credibility depends on getting the facts right.
